130. Mr. F. Noel-Baker

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what charges have been made against Mr. Charles Foley, Editor of the Times of Cyprus; and whether he will make available to hon. Members the texts of reports published by Mr. Foley, which formed the basis of the charge.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The charges are of publication of disturbing reports contrary to Emergency Regulation 43 and are in respect of an article published in theTimes of Cyprus on 21st November. I have had copies of the details of the charges and of the article in question placed in the Library.
