HC Deb 03 December 1956 vol 561 c93W
101. Mr. Teeling

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the delay at the United Nations Assembly in taking action over the invasion of Hungary, Her Majesty's Government will take the initiative to invite the Catholic countries of Europe and Latin America to make preparations to send observers to Hungary and, if necessary, Poland, in view of the inherent Catholicism of these countries, to make sure that free practice of their faith is assured.

Mr. Dodds-Parker

I do not believe that the Governments concerned require the advice of Her Majesty's Government on the steps they should take to ensure the free practice of their faith in Hungary or other countries.
