HC Deb 19 April 1956 vol 551 c104W
Mr. Russell

asked the Postmaster-General the amounts accounted for by laundry and casual hospitality which are included in the incidental expenses of £187,000 contained in his Estimates for 1956–57; and if he will give some indication of the way the money for casual hospitality is expended.

Dr. Hill

The amount included in respect of casual hospitality is £4,000. This relates to hospitality offered to visitors, for example, from overseas ad ministrations and in connection with conferences. The expenditure on laundry is included with other expenditure at some 600 offices and is not distinguishable in the central accounts.
