§ 58. Mr. Vaughan-Morganasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has now approved the development programme for British Guiana; what is the amount of expenditure envisaged; and from what sources it will be financed.
§ Mr. HareThe plan which is being put to the Legislative Council for approval provides in my view a satisfactory basis for development in the Colony. It envisages expenditure of nearly £20 million in the period 1956 to 1960 and will be financed from loans, Colonial Development and Welfare grants and revenue contributions.
