asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance if he will now make a statement on the future position of the widows now receiving the 10s. pension; and how soon he expects to receive the report from the Insurance Advisory Committee on this matter.

59. Lieut.-Colonel Lipton

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance what steps he is taking to expedite the report of the National Insurance Advisory Committee on widows' benefits.

I cannot add to the reply given to the hon. and learned Member for Middlesbrough; West (Mr. Simon) and the hon. and gallant Member for Portsmouth, West (Brigadier Clarke) on 31st October, which indicated that the Committee is understood to be nearing completion of its Report.
