Mr. Awberyasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he is aware that shipbuilders of Germany are providing special facilities for the transportation of motor cars which enable a vessel to carry a much larger number of cars by fixing additional floors; and if he will now give permission to British shipbuilders to provide similar facilities on British vessels to place them on a competitive level.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterYes. There is no objection to installing fittings of this kind in British ships provided they are so arranged as not to endanger the safety of the ships or their crews.
