HC Deb 09 November 1955 vol 545 c183W
29. Dr. Stross

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air what consideration has been given to the effect of cosmic rays on personnel flying at high altitudes; and what research has been made on this problem.

Mr. Ward

The R.A.F. medical authorities have been watching this problem in the light of information received from a number of sources, including data from instrument carrying balloons, and they are satisfied that cosmic rays present no hazard to aircrew flying on Royal Air Force operations.
