asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many Africans in Kenya were executed following trials in which witnesses were subsequently convicted of perjury; and what action Her Majesty's Government propose taking to order fresh trials for those sentenced under the same circumstances.

Intensive search of records has revealed no such cases. It has revealed only one case in which sentence of death was passed and witnesses were subsequently accused of perjury. In that case, the sentence was quashed on appeal.
