§ Mr. Finlayasked the Postmaster-General what steps he is taking to accelerate the installation of telephones on the Larkswood, Chingford, Exchange having regard to the facts that 50 applications have been outstanding for over five years and that there were 280 more applications waiting at the end of 1954 than at the end of 1953.
§ Mr. GammansWe began building a new exchange which will provide equipment for 6,000 additional lines in November last, and this will be ready for service in about two and a half years. Some new cables are being laid and will come into use six months from now.
