§ Mr. Lennox-BoydRegistration at employment exchanges is voluntary; the number registered during the first half of 1955 averaged 6,892. The International Labour Organisation has been asked to provide an expert to investigate the need for social security measures, including unemployment assistance. Meantime there is provision for relief payment by the Public Assistance Board to unemployed persons on the basis of need.
