Mr. Willey

asked the Minister of Health on what grounds the regional hospital board is at present unable to staff and maintain the 44 beds in hospitals in the area of the Sunderland Management Committee which are at present unoccupied.

These beds were ready to be brought into operation earlier than was anticipated, and they had not been provided for in the Regional Hospital Board's estimates. It is hoped that they will be brought into use in the coming financial year.
