HC Deb 21 February 1955 vol 537 c113W
Mr. Lewis

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power if he will give a general direction to the British Electricity Authority and the Area Gas Boards to consider jointly the advisability of introducing a meter, in all premises using gas and electricity which would measure the consumption of gas and electricity on the one meter, and thus save the necessity of employing two meter readers.

Mr. Joynson-Hicks

No. Such a service would not be practicable.
