§ 66. Mr. J. Harrisonasked the Minister of Health what schemes of hospital building or substantial extension he intends to sanction, or has recently sanctioned, for the counties of Nottingham, Derby and Lincoln.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodI assume the hon. Member has major projects in mind. Work is in progress on the provision of over 800 beds at Balderton Hall Mental Deficiency Hospital, near Newark, and a scheme of major extensions at Aston Hall Mental Deficiency Hospital is in preparation with a view to its inclusion in the 1956–58 programme. I cannot say100W what other major schemes will be included in that programme until I have consulted further with the Regional Hospital Board concerned but in my statement I mentioned a new hospital for Boston, Lincolnshire, as one that I hoped would start in the next few years.
