57. Mr. Blenkinsop

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that hospital management committees are being increasingly forced to use free moneys for essential capital work such as sanitary annexes and heating installations because of the inadequacy of capital allocations; and to what extent he has approved this practice.

I see no objection of principle to the use of non-Exchequer funds for such work.
