§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterInformation is not available for England and Wales, but in the Greater London area, which contains 30 per cent. of all traffic light signals in Great Britain, approximately 175 signal installations incorporate pedestrian push-button mechanism. There are no reliable statistics from which conclusions can be drawn as to their effect on accidents.
