Mr. Royleasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the refusal of the Chinese Government to attend the meeting of the Security Council as an observer, Her Majesty's Government will now instruct their representative at the United Nations organisation, to press for the admission of the Chinese People's Republic into the United Nations organisation as a permanent member.
