§ Mr. NuttingSir Knox Helm, the Governor-General of the Sudan, has intimated his desire to resign for personal reasons. Her Majesty's Government have told the Egyptian Government that they do not intend to nominate another British240W Governor-General in his place. The future of the Governor-Generalship is under discussion between the co-domini, who intend to seek the views of the Sudanese. I am, therefore not in a position to make any definite statement at the moment.
