73. Mr. Snow

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies to state Government policy regarding investment by private enterprise in Nigeria.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Her Majesty's Government welcome such investment and so do all the Governments in the Federation, though the local requirements may vary from region to region. In pursuit of their general policy for the development of the overseas territories, it is one of their principal aims to create conditions favourable for private investment, by promoting good government and by assisting in the development of basic services.
