HC Deb 14 December 1955 vol 547 cc190-1W
102. Mr. de Freitas

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation why there has been a delay in changing the over-lapping level crossing gates in the High Street, Lincoln, to the type that meet in the centre and introducing automatic light signals for road traffic.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

I understand that the city council and the British Transport Commission were unable to agree how the cost of the new gates should be shared. I am glad to say that these difficulties have now been resolved and that the work is expected to begin next month.
