§ Mr. J. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what action has been taken in Zanzibar Township to implement the findings in the Vasey Report on Local Government Advancement.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydMost of the findings of the Vasey Report have been accepted by the Zanzibar Government. Certain interim measures have already been put into effect, and it is hoped that legislation implementing the main recommendations will be introduced and the new Municipal Council inaugurated by 1st July, 1956.
