§ Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if his attention has been drawn to the correspondence in June, 1954, which the City Engineer of Aberdeen has had with his Home Department about proposed demolition of the communal residential surface air-raid shelter at 44, Kintore Place, Aberdeen; if he is aware that this shelter is unnecessary, an interference with the amenities of many residents, and is causing deprivation of their drying-green space; and if he will now authorise its removal.
§ Mr. J. Stuart:While this shelter is reported to be in good condition, I recognise that it is causing considerable inconvenience to the tenants of the neighbouring properties and, in the circumstances, I am authorising the town council to demolish it.
