§ Lieut.-Commander Baldockasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether, when he distributes the Highway Code, he will send out with it to all holders of licences for motor bicycles a special appeal to them to wear crash helmets, in view of the continuing unnecessary fatalities from head injuries.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterI will continue to do everything I can to encourage all motor cyclists to wear helmets, and will include suitable advice on this question in road safety publicity at appropriate times. I doubt whether the particular occasion suggested by my hon. and gallant Friend offers the best opportunity, but I will bear the point in mind.
