HC Deb 25 November 1954 vol 533 cc185-6W
Sir R. Perkins

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he is aware that Command Paper No. 6712 of December, 1945, stated that it was the policy of the Government of that day to require the air corporations to fly British types of aircraft and whether he will give an assurance that this remains the policy of the present Government.

Mr. Boyd-Carpenter

I am aware of the general policy stated in Command 6712 which has not been changed. Its application of course depends on the availability of suitable British aircraft for the route in question.
