§ 73. Mr. Wadeasked the Attorney-General whether he will recommend the appointment of a Royal Commission to inquire into the appointment, powers and functions of tribunals set up by Government Departments, the procedure and practice of such tribunals, the desirability of pronouncing in public the decisions arrived at by them and the reasons therefor, and any right of appeal from such decisions.
The Attorney-GeneralNo. Provision for these matters is made in the case of most tribunals by the Acts of Parliament under which they are established. I do not think that any useful purpose would be served by a general inquiry by a Royal Commission with terms of reference of the kind suggested by the hon. Member.
