Mr. Elwyn Jonesasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance why unemployment benefit has been and is being refused to a number of workers in the ship-repairing industry whose services were terminated by their employers in September, who lodged their insurance cards at their employment exchange and who have since September applied for and made themselves available for work.
§ Mr. MarplesI assume the hon. Member has in mind certain cases which have arisen in the Thames Estuary involving 61W a possible trade dispute disqualification. I understand that the statutory authorities hope to dispose of these shortly.
