HC Deb 10 November 1954 vol 532 c144W
Lieut. - Colonel Bromley - Davenport

asked the Minister of Food how many pigs are at present being certified at dead-and-live-weight centres or through auctions each week; and how many out of the total are not at present passing through the hands of the Fatstock Corporation.

Mr. Amory

For the week ended 10th October (the last week for which firm figures are available) 228,000 pigs were certified for subsidy, of which 144,000 were deadweight certifications. It would not be proper for me to give figures which indicate the extent of the business of an individual concern.
