HC Deb 31 May 1954 vol 528 c64W
Captain Kerby

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation the volume of traffic carried by the Lower Coast Road, A259, between the East-West Sussex county boundary and the borough of Worthing boundary, compared with that on the South Coast Trunk Road, TR37-A27, which passes over the Old Shoreham Toll Bridge, between the same boundaries.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I regret that there is no record of the present volume of traffic. The average numbers of mechanically propelled vehicles observed daily during the most recent census taken in August, 1938, at census points between these boundaries were 7,602 on A259 and 3,224 on A27.
