HC Deb 27 May 1954 vol 528 c49W
Mr. Patrick Maitland

asked the Lord Advocate whether he is aware that dissatisfaction has been expressed by garden-lovers lately in Leadhills, Coalburn, Tarbrax and elsewhere in the Upper Ward of Lanarkshire at the depredations of straying sheep, and that complaints have been made that when these depredations have been reported to the Procurator-Fiscal no action has been taken; and whether he will institute an inquiry into the nuisance.

The Lord Advocate

I have heard of one case in Coalburn and a case in Tarbrax in which sheep are alleged to have strayed. I have no information regarding any such incident in Leadhills. I am inquiring into the circumstances.
