Sir R. De la Bère

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Air the number of information officers attached to his Department and their grades, who are engaged on Press matters, broadcasting, public inquiries and general public relations work.

Mr. Ward

There are 11 Information Officers employed on this work in the information division of the Air Ministry (one chief information officer, one deputy chief information officer, two senior information officers and seven information officers). In addition, one squadron officer of the Women's Royal Air Force is employed on similar duties.

Eight. They are one chief information officer, one principal information officer, one senior information officer and five information officers. Apart from these eight information officers there is one part-time honorary adviser on public relations who is paying particular attention to the revised Highway Code and to road safety generally.
