asked Her Majesty's Government how many convictions were obtained on a charge of being drunk in charge of a motor car or oil-driven vehicle during 1953 in the County Palatine of Lancaster, giving separate figures for Manchester and Salford.

The following are the provisional figures of convictions in magistrates' courts in Lancashire during 1953 for driving or being in charge of a motor vehicle when under the influence of think or drugs:
