asked the Minister of Food the tonnage of oats and barley, respectively, imported into this country in each of the past five years; and the approximate percentage in each case of the amount used for animal consumption.

The figures are: 1954–55, none; 1955–56, about 15,000; 1956–57. about 30,000. It is too soon yet to say exactly how reservists will be selected for this training, but we shall not select anyone who is likely to be required by the Royal Air Force at the outset of an emergency or who is not up to the required standard of physical fitness.
