HC Deb 17 June 1954 vol 528 cc160-1W
81. Mr. Hamilton

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation how many road accidents occurred on that part of road A92 lying within the designated area of the new town of Glenrothes in Fife from 1st January, 1950. to the latest date for which statistics are available; how many such accidents were fatal; and what steps are contemplated in the immediate future to reduce the number of such accidents.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Between the 1st January, 1950, and the 4th June, 1954, 78 accidents on this part of road A.92 were reported to the police; 36 involved personal injuries and of these six were fatal. As regards the last part of the Question, I would carefully consider any application which the Fife County Council, who are the highway authority, might wish to make to me in respect of remedial measures.
