§ 1. Lord Malcolm Douglas-Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if his attention has been drawn to the successful operation of the air transport of beef in Australia, details of which have been sent to him; and if he will consider a special subsidy under the hill farming schemes to encourage the starting of a similar effort in the North of Scotland for the transport of fresh meat to southern markets.
§ Mr. J. StuartI am aware of the Australian scheme. I have no power to provide the subsidy suggested by my noble Friend and I do not consider that a subsidy of the kind suggested would be appropriate in the North of Scotland.
