85. Mr. Rankin

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he has now received from Glasgow Corporation an itemised estimate of the cost of construction of the Linthouse Tunnel; if he will make a statement on the estimate; and if he is now prepared to approve the engagement of the consulting engineers.

Mr. Molson

We received an itemised estimate from the Glasgow Corporation last Thursday, and my Department is now in correspondence with them about it. It would be premature at the moment to instruct the consulting engineers to design the scheme in detail.
