60. Lieut.-Colonel Lipton

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Defence what quantities of books, held to be obscene as the result of criminal proceedings at the Old Bailey on 19th January last, have been purchased on behalf of the Service authorities for distribution to the Forces; whether he has decided to recall and destroy stocks of these books held by the Service authorities; and what steps he will take to ensure that obscene literature is no longer distributed to the Forces through official channels.
