78. Mr. Hurd

asked the Minister of Health if he is aware that the boiler equipment in many hospitals is inefficient and wasteful; and if he will consider with the Minister of Fuel and Power the best means of providing modern heating installations that will save fuel and money.

My right hon. Friend is aware of the need to replace much of the equipment, and both his Department and the boards are well supplied with information about improved installations; but there are many other urgent demands on the limited resources available for capital development and it is not possible to give exclusive priority to boiler replacements.
