HC Deb 19 February 1954 vol 523 c245W
Mr. Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware that it is possible to gain free access and departure from the Anti-Aircraft Command School of Technical Instruction, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Lydd, Kent; that civilian and Army personnel receiving instruction are informed that passes must be shown, but that no passes are issued; that no one has been challenged at any time to prove their identity; and whether, in view of the latest radar and electrical equipment connected with guns and radar predictors which are there available, he is satisfied that adequate security measures are in operation at this school.

Mr. Head

Students at this school are sponsored by their units and their unit passes and not special passes are used. During working hours there is a guard at the gate and at night guard dogs are used.
