HC Deb 11 February 1954 vol 523 c155W
85. Miss Lee

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department the cost of increasing the pension to widows of police officers who died before 5th July, 1948, to 19s. 2d.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

The cost of such an increase would be about £4,700 a year. Most of the widows in question have already had increases under those parts of the Police Pensions Regulations which correspond to the provisions of the Pensions (Increase) Acts and the National Insurance Acts. Those who have not had such increases will either have other income or will not be handicapped by age, children or infirmity.
