Major Anstrnther-Grayasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has considered a communication from 169W the Blackface Sheep Breeders Association to the effect that sheep stealing has increased and that heavier penalties are required;what action he proposes to take; and on what figures he bases the reply which he is sending to them.
Commander Donaldson asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that there has been an increase in sheep stealing in recent years and that this is causing increasing concern among sheep breeders; and if he will take steps to introduce legislation to increase the penalties for sheep stealing.
