HC Deb 10 February 1954 vol 523 c134W
104. Mr. Peter Freeman

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General whether he will now make a statement on the new machines for selling 1s. booklets of stamps which have been installed in a number of offices throughout the country.

Mr. Gammans

About 90 of these machines are now on trial and first reports on their performance are being studied. The machines seem to be giving general satisfaction, but show a tendency to develop certain faults which must be cured before the question of extending their use can be considered.
