HC Deb 10 February 1954 vol 523 cc122-3W
46. Mr. A. Henderson

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will make a statement on the progress of the Anglo-Iranian oil talks.

Mr. Selwyn Lloyd

I have nothing to add to my answer to the hon. Member for Aston (Mr. Wyatt) on 25th January, except to say that, as the House is no doubt aware, the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company have resumed their talks with other oil companies able to make a positive contribution to a solution of the Persian oil problem, and a joint survey mission is about to visit the oil installations in Southern Persia.
