§ 86. Mr. Ness Edwardsasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether any application for grants for water or sewerage schemes under Section 3 of the Distribution of Industry Act, 1945, made since the issue of Circular 54/52, have yet been approved by his Department.
§ Mr. MarplesNo, but 14 Welsh schemes and two English schemes for which application had been previously made have been approved since the Circular, because commitments had already been entered into; and in one English scheme which is about to be undertaken and is regarded as of exceptional industrial importance, the authority concerned has been informed that grant has been approved in principle towards any deficit that may be involved.
