§ Sir D. Maxwell FyfeIn England and Wales, by 31st December, last, 347,214 recruits had joined the Civil Defence Corps, of whom 44,808 had left. On the same date 226,557 were in training, of whom 79,190 had finished their basic training and 23,963 had finished their section training.
