HL Deb 22 December 1954 vol 190 c656WA
LORD GLYN

asked Her Majesty's Government whether it is intended to implement the proposals of the Committee, appointed to consider matters affecting London traffic conditions, to double the width of the roadways leading in and out of Hyde Park.

THE EARL OF SELKIRK

I presume the noble Lord, Lord Glyn, has in mind the Report of the Special Sub-Committee appointed by the London and Home Counties Advisory Committee on 17th March, 1950, to consider traffic congestion in inner London, with particular reference to parking problems. Following this Report certain improvements have been carried out to the Alexandra Gate. The further recommendations of this Committee in regard to Victoria Gate have now to be considered in the light of other measures affecting traffic entering and leaving Hyde Park.
