§ Sir D. Robertsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether, in the light of the recent report on the internal administration of hospitals, he now proposes any change in the practice of employing full-time medical superintendents in Scottish hospitals.
§ Mr. J. StuartThis report relates to conditions in England and Wales, and no action is in view in Scotland. Continuance of the present Scottish practice was assumed in a report prepared by the Scottish Health Services Council in 1952, which was summarised in their published annual report for that year, and no advice in a contrary sense has been tendered to me.
