HC Deb 21 December 1954 vol 535 c271W
Mr. Braine

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is aware of the dissatisfaction felt in the Leeward Islands with the present federal system of government; and what action he intends to take.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Yes. I hope to introduce legislation as soon as practicable to abolish this Federation. This accords with the wishes of the Leeward Islanders and will also accord with the Plan for a British Caribbean Federation, which provides for the entry into the Federation of Antigua, St. Christopher-Nevis-Anguilla, and Monstserrat as separate member units.
