HC Deb 21 December 1954 vol 535 c256W
73. Mr. H. Johnson

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that parents of soldiers serving with the 11th Hussars at Kuala Lumpur and with other units in the Far East have been refused the concession of free parcel post because their sons' regiments have not had allocated to them Army Post Office numbers; and what action he proposes to take to remedy this hardship.

Mr. F. Maclean

As announced in the House on 17th November by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Defence, this concession applies to men who left this country for Malaya after 3rd November. If my hon. Friend knows of any case where this condition has been fulfilled and the parents have been refused the concession, I will look into it urgently if he will send me details.
