HC Deb 15 December 1954 vol 535 cc140-1W
63. Mr. Paget

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the number of cases in which the prosecution had relied upon the evidence of ex-police commandant Derek Searle; how many of these cases have resulted in sentences of death; and how many men are still undergoing punishment.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I have asked the Governor for this information and will circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT when I receive his reply.

66. Mr. Strachey

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will put a transcript of the evidence and judgment in Regina versus Derek Searle in the magistrates' court at Nairobi in the Library.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I will consider this request when I receive the Governor's report on the case.
