HC Deb 14 December 1954 vol 535 cc133-4W
Mr. Llewellyn

asked the Minister of Education what provision is planned for the education of spastic children in Cardiff, Glamorgan and Wales, respectively.

Mr. Vosper

In 1955, the Glamorgan authority will start building a school for 100 pupils which should meet the needs of all children in South Wales suffering from cerebral palsy who need boarding education. A similar school will be built in North Wales if a survey I am now making shows this to be necessary. I am considering an application from the Cardiff authority to provide in an existing day special school a unit for children suffering from cerebral palsy and another from the Swansea authority to establish a day special school for the same purpose.
