§ Mr. TurtonThe provision for the current financial year for news and information services, including the cost of the British Council, in South America, is £188,816; namely, £84,690 on behalf of the Foreign Office and £104,126 on behalf of the British Council. This does not include the cost of the B.B.C. Latin-American Service, or of the services supplied by the Central Office of Information, for which it is difficult to give precise figures.
